GAB conference 2024<\/h3>\n

The 23rd Annual Meeting of the GAB took place from November 14 to 16 in Leipzig. Under the motto \u201cLeipzig mit Allerlei\u201d, the focus was on cognition, outcome prediction, and other aspects for effective speech therapy. This year, we had the opportunity to present the qualitative results of our research project \u201cPeerPAL\u201d in the form of a poster. This allowed us to showcase our study findings to a broad audience and engage in discussions with professional colleagues. Additionally, our poster was awarded first place in the poster competition. BAS international conference 2024<\/h3>\n

The British Aphasiology Society (BAS) Conference took place from 16 to 18 September in Leicester (United Kingdom). On 18 September we were able to present and discuss our quantitative results from the PeerPAL research project. <\/p>\n

dbl-congress 2024<\/h3>\n

From the 14th-15th June the 52nd dbl congress took place in Oberhausen. The event focused on \u201csustainability\u201d in speech therapy. In the lecture block \"Digitalization in Neurorehabilitation\" we were able to present and discuss our qualitative results of the intervention study.<\/p>\n

Project meeting in Regensburg 2024<\/h3>\n

On June 10, 2024, the PeerPAL team was able to meet again in analog form. This time the meeting took place at the Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule in Regensburg. The publication of the quantitative results was planned. The evening ended with a meal together.<\/p>\n

W\u00fcrzburger aphasia days 2024<\/h3>\n

The W\u00fcrzburg Aphasia Days took place again from March 15-17th 2024. In this context, we were able to present the current status of our research project PeerPAL. During the conference days, we met some participants of the intervention and were able to chat with them. This made the days even more beautiful and exciting.<\/p>\n

Project meeting in Mainz 2023<\/h3>\n

On December 14th 2023, the PeerPAL team met for a project meeting at the Catholic University of Applied Sciences in Mainz. The publication of the qualitative results of the PeerPAL study was prepared. Afterwards we went to the Mainz Christmas market.<\/p>\n

GAB conference 2023<\/h3>\n

This year's conference of the Society for Aphasia Research and Treatment (GAB) took place from November 2nd to 4th. The first results of the PeerPAL intervention study were presented at the congress, which took place in Graz, Austria this year, but was also broadcasted online as a hybrid event.<\/p>\n

This year numerous workshops, lectures and posters were also presented on developments in the areas of prediction, prognosis, treatment success and analogue or digital intervention methods. Our research team was able to present the PeerPAL project and the initial findings and thus bring the experts up to date on the research project.<\/p>\n

We are already looking forward to presenting the final results of our study at various congresses next year.<\/p>\n

Project meeting in Mainz 2022<\/h3>\n

For the first time, the entire PeerPAL team was able to come together for an analogue project meeting in Mainz. Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, cooperation has so far been exclusively digital. We were very happy to be able to exchange ideas in person now! In addition to the PeerPAL staff, the colleagues from the BaSeTaLK project also took part in this meeting. BaSeTaLK is also a joint project headed by Prof. Lauer and Prof. Corsten. In BaSeTaLK, a tablet-supported measure for biography work in care and senior citizen facilities was developed and evaluated. The aim of the project is to increase the quality of life and participation of older people. Together we exchanged views on challenges in the research process and discussed possible solutions.<\/p>\n

IARC 2022<\/h3>\n

Between June 22 and 24, 2022, the International Aphasia Rehabilitation Conference (IARC: international aphasia rehabilitation conference) was held in Philadelphia. We are pleased that PeerPAL could also be presented during this congress.<\/p>\n

Every two years, the IARC brings together researchers and clinical specialists in neurological speech and language therapy to share the international state of the art in aphasia research.<\/p>\n

Being able to present PeerPAL in this setting and discuss the results so far with the international professional community has filled us with pride and joy.<\/p>\n

dbl-congress 2022<\/h3>\n

From 20. to 21 May 2022, the 50th dbl Congress took place in Koblenz. One of the many exciting presentations at this congress was the current development status of the PeerPAL app. Dbl congresses are an annual opportunity for speech and language therapists to inform themselves about relevant topics for the profession. The main focus of the anniversary congress was on speech, language, voice and hearing disorders in childhood and adolescence. Nevertheless, there was an animated exchange about the current state of development of the PeerPAL app.<\/p>\n

W\u00fcrzburger aphasia days 2022<\/h3>\n

At the W\u00fcrzburg Aphasia Days 4.2 from March 25-27, 2022, which had to be held online again this year due to the pandemic, we were allowed to present our research project PeerPAL.<\/strong> During the three days of the congress, the participants were able to attend many exciting lectures and workshops. The topics revolved around neurological speech and language disorders, their diagnosis & therapy and dealing with the changed challenges in everyday life. The theme of our lecture was \"When speech is lost. Possibilities of digital participation in aphasia\". Our research team had the opportunity to present the PeerPAL project and the current status as well as the outlook for the future phases of the project to the audience. The great interest of the audience in the topic relevant for the care of people with aphasia and the further development of the research project was particularly pleasing. We are already looking forward to hopefully being able to present the progress in our project again on site in W\u00fcrzburg in the coming years and are looking forward to a personal exchange and exciting discussions with the professional community, affected persons and relatives.<\/p>\n

GAB-conference in Cologne 2021<\/h3>\n

At the 20th meeting of the Society for Aphasia Research and Treatment (GAB), held this year from October seventh to 09 October 2021, the PeerPAL<\/strong> project was presented. The congress, which was held digitally for the first time this year due to the pandemic, was held under the motto \"Communication: Language, Emotion, Cognition\". National and international research projects in the field of aphasia research were presented in numerous lectures and poster presentations. Our research team also had the opportunity to present the PeerPAL project and the current status as well as the outlook for the future phases of the project to the professional community.<\/p>\n

Here, the response from the professional audience was a great interest in the topic relevant to the care of people with aphasia and the development of the research project.<\/p>\n
